Maureen Hall

Pastoral Associate for Adult Faith Formation

Ms. Hall returned to Saint Michael Parish in 2007 as Director of Youth Ministry, a position she previously held before taking several years off to pursue a PhD in theology at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh.  As of July 1, 2011, she took over the duties as Pastoral Minister of Liturgy & RCIA, and as the Spiritual Leader for Christ Renews His Parish Women's Renewal. In addition to her doctoral work, Ms. Hall has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Religious Studies from Ursuline College in Cleveland and a Master of Arts in Theology from the University of Notre Dame.  Ms. Hall has been an avid choir singer, and sometimes sings with the Saint Michael Adult choir.  In her spare time, she enjoys cooking, gardening, studying philosophy and playing with her cats.

"Maureen has recently announced that she would be retiring from her position here at Saint Michael Parish.  Maureen has been a part of the Saint Michael family for nearly 30 years and has led a variety of ministries over that time, with liturgy, youth ministry, but most especially RCIA and Adult Faith Formation.  She is an active member of a variety of diocesan councils and has been a great source of knowledge and wisdom for so many here in the parish and beyond.  I certainly understand the desire to step back from full-time ministry and prepare for a new phase of life as she begins her retirement.  With the conclusion of the catechetical year, it seems the best time for Maureen to make the change.  Thank you, Maureen, for your blessings to our parish family and enjoy your well-deserved retirement."  --Father Lavelle

Marcy Fessler

She has ministered in parishes in Buffalo, Erie, Pennsylvania, North Canton and Youngstown, Ohio. She has also ministered in the Catechetical Office of the Diocese of Boise, ID. When she is not working, Ms. Fessler enjoys cooking and baking, reading, going to dinner with friends, crocheting and adding to her yarn stash.

Laura Kunkel

Music Ministry Director

Laura Kunkel comes to us from Saint Edward Parish in Youngstown. She lives in McDonald, is married, and the mother of three little boys.

"Laura has accepted the position of Director of Music at Saint Charles.  The expansive program and involvement with the school children were the primary motivation for her decision to move to Saint Charles.  Laura has made me very aware that this was a very difficult decision and that she has greatly loved her five years here at Saint Michael Parish. I personally appreciate the wonderful liturgical music Laura has provided for our parish and wish her the best as she moves on.  She will be with us through the end of June.  Please take some time over these coming weeks to wish her well and thank her for her ministry here in our parish."
