Easter Environment Memorials
2024

FROM THE PASTOR . . .

This is the day the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad!  Alleluia, Alleluia!!

After 40 days of our Lenten journey, complete with sacred traditions of fasting, prayer and alms-giving; after having gathered in the Upper Room to be nourished with Christ’s own Body, and witnessing the call to ministry; after having stood before the cross in humble veneration, and having offered solemn prayer for the entire world; after waiting the in dark and silence of the tomb – we run to bask in the dazzling light of the Resurrection of our Lord.  Yes indeed, this is a day in which to rejoice and be glad.  But if we seek eternal resurrection, we must be willing to also invite the disciplines of these past weeks and days into our daily living.  Increased prayer, acts of charity, and self-denial must be constants in our lives, as well as desire to humble ourselves before the cross and seek the nourishment that only Christ can offer, is the way in which we move beyond the darkness of this world into the Light of the Risen Lord.  On this Easter day, let us also pray for the many who have gone before us to the eternal Kingdom, especially those listed for whom our Easter environment has been prayerfully remembered.

Happy Easter,

Father Lavelle
