New families are always welcome to join our various religious education programs. Please call or stop by the parish office for more information about our Faith Formation programs or click the links below. Our Generations of Faith is open to all adults, and families with children in kindergarten through eighth grade.

We also offer Liturgy of the Word for our Preschool and Kindergarten children. Learn more HERE.

Generations of Faith: It’s for Everyone!
Did you know our Generations of Faith program is open to all St. Michael parishioners—even if you DON’T

have children currently in the program? Consider joining us for one or all sessions to learn more about our Catholic faith. There will be activities adapted for generations of all ages during the opening portion of our session.

Catechists Matter
Are you looking to have a long lasting mark on the faith of future generations?

Consider becoming a catechist for our Generations of Faith program.

Would you like to help our children break open the Word of God at Mass?

Consider becoming a Liturgy of the Word Catechist. You can help our youngest members learn about Sacred Scriptures at the 9:00 AM or 11:00 AM Sunday Masses.

Join the Support Team for GOF

Volunteers are needed to lend a helping hand in a variety of ways to facilitate the monthly GOF sessions and to share ideas for the GOF program. This is a wonderful opportunity for you to share your faith and watch the children grow in their faith journey. Thank you for considering this chance to serve the Lord by serving the children.

Call Nicky Uerling at at the parish office (330-533-6839) or email nuerling@stmichaelcanfield.org to find out more about how you can help.

Nicky Uerling moved to Youngstown from the arctic cold of Wisconsin with her family in 2012. She studied Theology at the University of Dayton and proceeded to work in the world of campus ministry for 8 years, helping students, faculty and staff live their faith out in everyday life. Passionate about helping her three boys learn about their faith, the Generations of Faith program at St. Michael Parish was a natural fit. In her free time, Nicky loves to read memoirs, play guitar, and go hiking with her family at Mill Creek Park.
