Pastoral Council Discernment Process Now Underway
We currently have 3 openings for Representatives to our Parish Pastoral Council.
The term is for 3 years. Parish Council usually meets on the 1st Wednesday of the month from September through June, except for the months of December and January. Parish Council members provide consultation to the pastor and serve as a vehicle of dialogue and communication among the pastor, the parish staff, parish organizations, and parishioners. The council is not intended to be a decision making body or administrative board but one that collaborates with the pastor to identify the needs of the parish and then implements the plan through the coordination of various parish activities and committees.
Parish Council members are "discerned", which means there is no voting. All the names will be put in a basket and 3 names will be drawn during Mass the weekend of August 21.
If you are interested in becoming a member of Parish Council please fill out the form included in the bulletin. or print out and complete the form from the website and turn it in to the office. You can submit the form any day between July 27 and August 7.
Please prayerfully consider this special way of being of service to your Parish.
Last week we announced the beginning of the “Discernment Process” for choosing new members of Parish Pastoral Council. There was an insert in the bulletin explaining the qualifications, the process, the requirements, and the time line. It is also on our website.
If you are interested please consider nominating yourself. If you are on the shy side, remember this is not an election, no one will even know your name is in the process unless you tell them. This should be a very interesting year with the merging and closing of some parishes. Be a part of it and let your voice be heard.
