NEW VOLUNTEERS NEEDED TO COOK
FOR OUR NEXT COMMUNITY MEAL

WHAT'S IT ALL ABOUT?
The St. Michael Community Meal has been a ministry here for over 4 years. We provide a free meal open to all—parishioners and non-parishioners alike—on the 4th Thursday of every other month. We average around 100 guests at each meal. The purpose is truly a simple one: to provide hospitality, community outreach, fellowship, and fun while we enjoy a meal together. The meal is planned, prepared, and served by a network of St. Michael parishioners who decide on a menu and communicate all the planning details via email.
NOW WE NEED MORE HELP
We are looking for NEW helpers for our October 25th meal who would be willing to contribute to our menu by preparing the Pasta Casserole recipe (below). You would prepare the casserole at home and bring it to the Parish Hall kitchen ready to serve. We will also be serving a variety of apple and pumpkin desserts. We would welcome your
food items whether you choose to simply drop off your contributions--or stay and help. We plan for around 100-120 people.
If you can make a Pasta Casserole or contribute a dessert please call Barb Spencer (330-788-8373) before October 14 to let her know you are planning to do this so she can give you further information and include you in the tally of cooks needed to serve the amount of people expected.
We invite your help in other areas too: set-up, serving, greeting, clean up. We invite our jr. high and high school teens to volunteer to help! For high school students who need hours for community service, this would be an excellent opportunity.
Donations of money for the purchase of food may be dropped off at the Parish Office.

Here is the recipe for the casserole that the volunteers will be making:
INGREDIENTS: Makes at least 12 servings
8 oz. Spaghetti
1 lb. Ground Beef
1 cup Green/Red Pepper, chopped
1 cup Onion, diced
1 tbl Garlic Powder
1 10 oz can Tomato Soup
1 10 oz can Cream of Mushroom Soup
1 10 oz can Water
1 6oz can Mushrooms with Liquid
Grated Parmesan Cheese
Sauté ground beef, green/red pepper, onion and garlic.
Mix with spaghetti
Add tomato soup, cream of mushroom soup, water and mushrooms.
Sprinkle with cheese.
Bake in a 13x9 pan at 350 for 30 minutes. Do not cover.
Recipe can be made using cream of chicken soup or cream of celery soup. Mushrooms can be optional (possible allergies to mushrooms).
Can be made days ahead of time and reheated before serving.
