                                               COMMUNITY MEAL -  COMMUNITY OPPORTUNITY

The Saint Michael Community Meal has been a ministry here for over 6 years. We provide a free community meal on the months opposite of Saint Charles Parish, where we first learned of this.  We have been averaging around 100 guests at each meal. The purpose is truly a simple one: to provide hospitality, community outreach, fellowship, and fun while we enjoy a meal together.  It is open to parishioners and non-parishioners alike--anyone who would like to come.  The meal is planned/prepared/served by a network of Saint Michael parishioners who communicate all the planning details via email.  We welcome help in other areas too: set-up, serving, greeting, clean up. We especially invite our jr.high/high school teens to volunteer to help! For high school students who need hours for community service, this would be an excellent opportunity.

Donations of money for the purchase of food may be dropped off at the Parish Office.

                                                                WHAT IS IT'S PURPOSE?

This ministry outreach, run by parish volunteers, has as its main purpose to build community, and to strengthen friendships over a gratis meal together. There’s been some confusion of late as to “who should attend.” The meal is meant for anyone who would like to come, both parishioners of the parish and anyone else from the larger geographical area. For example, if someone lives alone, it’s an opportunity to “meet new people.” For others, it’s a social supper out.  As one of our liturgy songs goes: “All are welcome, all are welcome, all are welcome in this place!”

                                                                         THANK YOU!

On behalf of the Community Meal volunteers and participants, we would like to publicly acknowledge and thank

the Saint Michael Altar Guild and the Saint Michael Men's Club for their generous donations to support our Community Meals. THANK YOU!

And we appreciate the efforts of everyone who supports our Community Meal Ministry. Our many dedicated parishioner volunteers truly go the extra mile to make this event one of great hospitality!
